So, we all know that the best way to start the day is with a proper breakfast.
Brekkie gives us a kick start in the morning, and depending on what we select as our fuel of choice, our bodies a hit of nutrition too.
Being a firefighter, there isn’t always the guaranteed time to sit down to a good breakfast and so a smoothie is always a great option for on the go.
Here’s one of our smoothie recipes to try for yourself. All you need is a little bit of prep that can be done whilst you are sleeping….and a blender.
1/2 cup 100% wholegrain rolled oats soaked in coconut milk overnight
1/2 pint milk, preferably full-fat but try oat milk or nut milk if you’d rather or for a vegan option
2 tablespoons plain Greek yogurt (or coconut yogurt to go vegan)
I medium banana fresh or frozen
Pop all the ingredients into a blender and whizz up until it’s smooth. Pour into a glass or a container if you want breakfast on the go.
